BeMoreCaring started in the winter of 2015. Our goal was simple - No One Cold On Our Streets. We aimed to give everyone in need that we saw a coat and or sleeping bag. As the summer approached we realized we were needed more then ever as many shelters shut down.
On average the homeless hear their names less then three times per year. Our initial goal is to make sure our friends get something warm to eat and their basic needs are covered. It is our exceeding joy to go further then that. We ask their name and if they'd share their story.
Their face lights up as they tell their story. Sometimes there are tears as they recount loosing their job and loosing their home. Or tearful recounting of a spouse dying. Their reasons vary but their hurt is the same. We offer a kind ear, lots of love and a hug or two.
